Crazy wealthy socialite from NY + sane working surrogate mother from PA = fascinating and scarily effective photograph which highlights the importance of class difference to how we understand infertility and surrogacy. More revealing, intelligent and sly than the article, which is insufferable to no end. Does the NYT Mag think their readers are all bourgeois neurotics? Doesn’t the New Yorker already cater to that demographic?
